Bio6, a student-led startup based out of the University of Alberta

Bio6 is a student-led start-up that addresses a critical need for sustainable single-use items in industries where eliminating disposables is currently unrealistic.

Our team repurposes spent grain from local breweries into compostable coasters, we offer a solution that goes beyond traditional alternatives like pulp or bamboo, which require primary resources.

Our approach prioritizes circular business practices—utilizing waste that already exists within the community—while eliminating the need for valuable crop space and reducing environmental impact.

An Enactus UAlberta Project
